Russian Actor Calls for LGBT People to be Burned Alive

Moving the comparison-goal-post even closer to the World War II era country that committed mass genocide, Russian actor Ivan Okhlobystin from the show ‘Interny‘ (based on the United States’ show Scrubs) argued that because living gay people pose a threat to his children, they should be burned alive.

“I myself would shove all live gays into furnace. This is Sodom and Gomorrah, I as a believer in God can not treat this indifferently, this is a live threat to my kids!… I do not want my kids to think that faggots are normal. This is lavender fascism. If a person can not choose someone of an opposite sex for procreation – this is a overt sign of mental abnormality, so they should be denied of voting rights,” Okhlobystin said.

Can anyone else remember what happened the last time a country hated a group of people so much they called for shoving them into ovens?

The reality today in Europe, and the United States is that hatred is at what seems to be a fevered pitch. Romanian Radio plays a song calling for Jews to be burned, and their bodies to be sent "up the chimney in smoke", Germany is actively policing anti-Semitic words and deeds, and in the United States, Anti-Semitic hatred is casually tweeted, commented, and "statused" on social media.

Here's the kicker. We have always believed that we would never forget, and never again permit hatred to rule our lives, or our politics again. We always felt that we would be the guardians of the good. Now, we MUST be. Everywhere. Now.
