Westboro Baptist Misspells “Illiterate” on Flyer Calling LGBT Supporters Illiterate

By Tim Peacock

We all know that Westboro Baptist Church is basically the real life version of that internet troll who lives to rile people up. Whereas internet trolls intentionally create drama, Westboro intentionally pickets funerals and use  inflammatory language knowing full well about 98% of the country utterly despise them.  The best way to get rid of an internet troll is to ignore them. Unfortunately, doing the same to Westboro doesn’t seem to be a great solution. Instead, let’s (for once) have a good laugh at some hilarious irony courtesy of the church itself.
Back story: As most know, Rhode Island will began granting same sex marriages next month on August 1. To commemorate the occasion, Westboro has decided (surprisingly!) to show up and protest the occasion. To advertise their arrival they created this flyer (right).
Did you catch that? Look again if not. It’s the first highlighted line that accuses us all of being illiterate – or, as Westboro calls it, “illerate.”

Perhaps their advertising copy-editing is about as spot-on as their Bible interpretations.
