The fair citizens of Pike Bay Township (in Cass County, Minnesota) have a problem on their hands - at least, the women do. It seems that their police chief - Chief Zem Hemsworth - has a problem with women...especially when they question his authority. On a public Facebook post making a Second Amendment "Pro-Choice" pun, he made statements against another person who commented on the photo - a female person. Of all ways for a public servant to react, he called the woman a "piece of shit scum sucking baby killing bitch" and a "filthy swanky slut." (Please pardon the crude language.)
Since the story originally broke across several local media sources, he has not only deleted the comment - he's also deleted his Facebook profile. He also had a YouTube profile media sources found shortly after the story broke - and screen shots of everything were captured before he removed all mention of his name from the internet. Want to do something? You can contact his office at 218-556-0821. You can also contact the township itself at 218-335-2071. If you contact either number, be firm but polite in relating your message that women are just as deserving of respect as anyone else - on or offline. Ask for a public apology, and short of that, ask him to step down from his duties as he has been shown not to be fit to serve. While he claims he is already under investigation, pressure from the community can only serve to strengthen the case against him.
Men like Hemsworth will not stop doing these sorts of barbaric things unless the public calls them out. A month from now Hemsworth will be back online verbally assaulting women again...unless you do something today to show him that this is wrong and that the nation will not tolerate it. Call today and let him know respect for women isn't optional.
This man is the Chief of Police? What a disgrace to the uniform. Do we really need such hate-mongering, abusive people in authority positions carrying weapons? I think not!
