Lawrence Krauss: Teaching Creationism Like Taliban, Child Abuse

On the most recent episode of his web show, David Pakman spoke with Lawrence Krauss about evolution, the teaching of creationism to children, and the impact is has on those children in an increasingly competitive national and global economy. In the interview, Krauss argues that teaching creationism as fact rather than religious ideology is a form of child abuse since it omits vital scientific facts and puts children at an educational disadvantage compared to their peers.

It should be noted that Krauss has some impressive credentials. He's authored nine books relating to different areas of science, has a Physics Ph.D from M.I.T., has various associations with both Harvard and Yale, has written over 300 scientific papers, and more.

  1. Here in TN, they have taken steps though new legislation to allow creationism back into the classroom. This law turns the clock back nearly 100 years here in the seemingly unprogressive South and is simply embarrassing. There is no argument against the Theory of Evolution other than that of religious doctrine. The Monkey Law only opens the door for fanatic Christianity to creep its way back into our classrooms. You can see my visual response as a Tennessean to this absurd law on my artist’s blog at with some evolutionary art and a little bit of simple logic.
