I guess I should be proud - my blog finally has some regular trolls now (which, according to some, means I must be doing something right in order to have them reading through each entry looking for something to start a flame war over). As a reminder to my readers: don't feed the trolls.
What brought on this post? A brand new troll that's looking for someone to bite back. He created a brand new account tonight (using the name Wayne) just to troll one of my trending articles. Here are some choice comments from him on an Applebee's write-up:
TGIF dear readers!

Funny. I never thought you were bitching or whining. Very interesting.
ReplyDeleteJae Mac, I'm Just Sayin'...(Damn!)
I occasionally suffer from the same thing, but as I'm an autism blogger, mine feels so much more personal ( at least in my own mind). When someone comments that I'm a monster and my children should be taken away from me because I REQUIRE my autistic daughter to use words when she communicates, it hurts. People don't know me or the love I have for my family, but like he said, trolls just want a platform from which to complain and degrade others.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, you and I don't always see eye-to-eye...on a couple of topics, we're more like eye-to-nose, where I'm ALMOST there agreeing with you, but maybe I see a little different side of things. And THAT'S OKAY! If I don't like your views on a topic, I simply don't have to share your piece with everyone. I'm not less of a human being because YOUR opinion is allowed to float around cyberspace!
The anonymity that the internet gives us brings out the ugliest in people. Read the Yahoo! News or YouTube comments sometime. Sad.
